Anyone else finding comfort in this during quarantine?
  • @chrisp.14
His voice was one of the voices that saved my life when I was about to leave.
  • Since my wife's passing almost a year ago I've found so much comfort In listening to Chris Cornell. Whether It's sound garden, audio slave or him solo. Truely one of the best voices and song writers ever

i work in a bar in the old ballard district of seattle and the day he died every shop/bar had the door open playing that voice so the world knew it lost something special
  • No disrespect to any performer, but man this dude is on his own level.

Every single night...I just scour YouTube. I sleep to his BEAUTIFUL voice. I just CAN'T accept this loss. There no peace in thinking that Chris Cornell died... ALONE... In a hotel room.... By his own hand.... I will NEVER believe it. If it's the truth, then my heart can't handle the truth of that. I LOVED him too much. I LOVE HIM TOO MUCH. I have since I first laid eyes on him in 1991. I was battling juvenile cancer. I was puking my guts up,bile, green bitter vile stuff... But every time I managed to lift my head up, I fixated my gaze through stinging tears on the video playing on MTV..... It was Outshined. I bought the cassette soon after. I listened to it daily, A LOT!.... kicked cancer's ass!.... And became a fan for life in the process. Soundgarden,Chris, that album... It was ALL POWERFUL, BEAUTIFUL AND DIFFERENT from anything else I'd ever seen. I REALLY needed that. Apparently I still do... I got to live. And as long as this heart beats, his voice will echo through this world, I will see to it. Is the least I can do. I owe him one.

Cornell had absolutely EVERYTHING: talent, vulnerability, volume, extension, range, mastery and a lot of technique. He could write songs like no one else, sing them in a way that no one else could, one of the greatest voices not only in rock, but in the history of music. He was a legend, one of today's most sensitive and dedicated artists.
