I feel like half the problem with Giddey is the lost confidence, like compare giddey to last year and he was more aggressive and happy to have the ball in his hands, but after his controversy its like he doesn't want people to notice him anymore and he's just eager to pass the ball away even if he's got a chance to score on his own
  • I dunno about OKC getting dismantled, but Chet being 7'1" and only getting 3 boards (one from PJ's intentional FT miss) is beyond me. Dude needs to bulk up or OKC needs to find a true Center.

The difference between Luka and Shai is that Luka is a passing savant. Shai is great is creating his own shots. But Luka can see cracks in opposing team's defense. He will sneak a bounce pass that can lead to a shot or swing pass to open man. Luka can throw lob pass from anywhere and any angles.

Sounds like trading Giddey and getting a real center and moving Chet to PF is the fix

I don't even blame Chet for this but he sometimes forget he's a seven footer. The amount of times he was bothered by Gafford when he's taking a shot at the rim is mind boggling
  • The mavericks have knocked off the #1 seeds twice in the last three years.
  • @Wonkzzilla
This is the first time in a long time the Mavs have had a real defensive presence at the rim.

Sucks for okc thunder not going to the western conference finals they were fun to watch this year
  • I think the NBA is entering a new era where it's not about how many superstars you can get on your team, but how many athletic bigs can you surround your one or two stars and shooters with.

Okc gave the mavs Dereck lively also. Traded cason Wallace and bertans for lively.

Not a thunder fan but I gotta say their future is a lot brighter than it has been.

Oh boyyyyy we need a sequel to this about the Nuggets
  • Andy I love these more frequent videos!! Appreciate them even more!!

The problem is their inexperience. They are such a young team who exceeded expectations and will only be good for years to come if injuries don’t happen.

They could turn Giddey into a 6th man version of Luka Doncic if they just give him the keys to the 2nd unit, make him the designated 2nd string PG and they draft a Defensive minded PF so Chet doesn't have to run every inch of the court lol.

okc was young and uncertain, mavs are very experienced. okc has players who are unsure of their roles/place on the team as this was their first good year together. they looked uncertain when shai or dub would kick it out, they werent driving as hard and werent looking to improve the intensity. reflected in their defense as well

Not only is Luca 6 foot seven, but he has a thick body , unlike most NBA players.
