www.dryer-vent-doctor.com/ Matt from the Dryer Vent Doctor gives a video demonstration of an all metal dryer vent transition kit used to connect the dryer to the vent in the wall. Make sure you have your dryer vent cleaned a minimum of once a year to prevent dryer fires.

  • It’s amazing, we can land a man on the moon, but manufacturers can’t seem to design a decent hose for a dryer! Then, to add insult to injury, we’re expected to shell out anywhere from $30 to $60 for a kit that should be part of the design in the first place. This should be the easiest thing in the world.

Would have loved to have this... Just installed Rigid Flex... very troublesome. I did pass along this video to warn about worst vent hoses. Thanks🏆

Excellent tip! I just ordered one. Much safer than the flexi pipe.

Good video, thanks for posting. Just ordered one of these and should arrive in a few days. Hoping it fits for my situation. Replacing that exact same hose you lit up.

THANK YOU!!!! Bought the kit and was much easier to install because the elbow brackets rotated. Please update your video to include installation as I needed to look at other videos to see how to attach to the junction in the wall and the dryer. Much appreciated!!! So very helpful, including on what NOT to use!
  • I really do appreciate this video!!!!!  My old dryer started to smoke and I do believe it was because of the aluminum hose that I had!  So I just recently bought a new one, it should be here tomorrow and I am doing research!  I like to take care of my investments!!!!!
  • I’m a fairly recent widow whose husband did all this kind of thing for. I had no idea how to hook up the washer and dryer after a recent move. There is so much to consider! Thank you for sharing your expertise.

I am bad! I have not checked my vent in years! Many! Ashamed. Checked yesterday. OMG! All but totally plugged! Flexible Al tube. Definitely not flammable. But, what a mess! So, got rigid metal tubing from the hardware store today. Total pain because of the tight working space! But I got it done.

Wow now put one on a drier ! After just getting a new drier I have been fighting to get a 4 inch to connect to the driers 4 inch vent !

Do you have a video showing how to install a dryer secondary lint trap? Soon I will move to a new construction home (built just a few months ago in 2017). I wonder if the builder installed a dryer secondary lint trap, and if he didn't, I want to learn what to buy to install a dryer secondary lint trap so that I don't have to clean the whole duct on a yearly schedule. Thank you.
  • @TheDryerVentDoctor : Could you tell me who the manufacturer of this type of vent is? Or what it’s called exactly? The wall exhaust pipe for the the dryer transition vent is to the right side of my dryer, instead of behind it or above it, although the dryer’s vent hole is on the back of the unit. I’m not sure what type of vent elbows or whatever I need. I want to be able to pull the dryer forward from time to time to clean behind it, grab fallen items, and clean the transition vent, so I need something flexible, but whirlpool wants the hook up to be rigid or semi rigid. This looks like a good option but I’m not sure where to find it. I live in Montreal Canada.
