Vader's ghost: "Are you winning son?"

Finally, the most powerful Jedi in history looks like the most powerful Jedi in history.

03:41 Force grip was difficult even for dark side users. To perform this without anger, but instead with sheer Force focus is something that would make any Sith afraid.
  • THIS is Luke. Bringing unimaginable power, but delivering it as hope for his friends and allies. The man who will build a new order that learned hard lessons from the old one. Not a hermit who ran and hid and threw everything away.

Luke during this time was an urban legend to the Empire. Remember by the end of Return of the Jedi, he was responsible for the destruction of two death stars. He was in a room with Darth Vader and the emperor. From the perspective of any witnesses, the emperor never made it out and he walked out with Darth Vader's dying defeated body. He is the only known living jedi left. This is what is going through Moff Gideon's head as he watches in terror as a cloaked force weilding figure with a light saber easily dismantles his army of Dark Troopers because he knows it could only be him.
  • When this scene aired, there was a great disturbance in the force. As if millions of fan voices cried out in pure joy, and they're still crying for joy everytime they watch this scene. There is no silence.

When 4 minutes of The Mandalorian is better than the entire sequel trilogy

I think the most underrated part of this scene is Moff Gideon's look of absolute dread when he realises it's Luke. The Moffs only knew of Luke through stories. A lot of them didn't believe Jedi were even real. From Gideon's eyes, a single Jedi blew up 2 death stars, killed the Emperor and carried Vader's defeated body away. Luke is the equivalent of a Boogie man to him. A being so powerful, so shrouded in legend and myth. That even though Gideon believed he had the upper hand and victory was imminent, all his hope was lost in a second, because he knew he was powerless to stop him. Resorting to trying to kill the child and off himself as a final act of defiance knowing he couldn't win

What I love about this scene is how perfectly it mirrors Vader's scene at the end of Rogue One. Luke is unstoppable in this scene, he moves forward with steady, deliberate purpose, just as his father did, but instead of inspiring fear, he brings hope.

I love seeing that smug satisfied face turn to fear and dread on Gideon when he realizes the Jedi is Luke. The one war hero of the Rebel Alliance who every Imperial believes defeated Sidious and Vader.

I love how they Potray luke to be exactly like his father in so many ways here. A cloaked, all powerful figure who makes the minimum movement required to defeat his enemy. Uses 1 hand on his blade until he needs both, and walks everywhere because he doesn't need to run. Even their hallway scenes are shot from the Same Angle. Luke really is the closest thing besides Dark Dimension Vader to a full potential Anakin in this scene. He has mastered his skills to a tee, and knows that he may be the most powerful force user, but his movements and stance show a wisdom and understanding that he cannot let himself be arrogant about that. It's so beautiful to watch him take the lessons of Obi wan, his father, and Yoda to become a Jedi. The Power of Kenobi, the Intimidation of Vader, and the wisdom of Yoda. All together, he became the Order's greatest Grandmaster. At least, if Disney let him he would've....

Obi wan's ability, Anakin's aggressiveness, Yoda's wisdom and Qui Gon Jin's Ideals

I just love how Mando almost died to one dark trooper. And here we have Luke bodying like thirty without breaking a sweat.

Dude the look of absolute horror on Gideon's face was amazing. Because Luke was to the Empire what Vader was to the rebels. As far as he knew, Luke destroyed a Death Star, killed Jabba the Hutt, and in a room with the Emperor and Vader, he was the only one that came out alive

I'll never forget all of the disbelief I was telling myself. When the X-Wing showed up i was like "Nah that can't be, they're just messing with us" then the black cloak going down the hall "Nahhh It can't be him, it's gotta be someone else, they just want me to think it's him" then it was the next scene where he deflects the blaster towards the camera and I see the belt buckle and then I proceed to lose my mind, and proceed to inch closer and closer to the TV as we see Luke cut his way through to Grogu I begin to start crying. I will never forget this scene and how emotional it made me.
  • This is the last thing I watched with my dad before he passed and it's a memory I will cherish forever now.

Based off of Gideon's reaction alone, the Empire was terrified of Luke. Kinda like how the Rebellion was afraid of Darth Vader. Luke and Vader may have been the exact opposite of each other, but in some ways, they were exactly the same.

There was only 1 flaw with this scene and return of Luke Skywalker in his full glory. It is that the weight , raw emotions and sheer joy captured by this moment cannot be relieved again.
