Hi everyone. Susie here from Minnesota, zone 4b. This year has definitely been a struggle with the weather and mosquitoes, but I am loving all of the cut flowers that I have grown from seed. I am planning on making some changes later in the season in my cottage garden. Not sure what yet, but after this year, I am ready for some changes. Hope you enjoy!

  • Always enjoy your talking tours. Sorry you've had so much rain; we need some badly. I think, right at the end, that your honeysuckle might be Dropmore Scarlet. I garden in zone 4a in western Canada, north of Montana.
  • Everything is looking wonderful Susie. Those geraniums are gorgeous! The darn rabbits ate all my veronica. I want those rudbeckia. Bonny

I have never grown Cosmos in a container. I'm going to try that next year. And I adore the color combo of your cosmos. ๐ŸŒธ

In the old days they use to roll up wet newspapers to catch earwigs. I'm in zone 4 WI and we've had all that rain and, for the first time ever, millions of mosquitoes. You've done a good job keeping the gardens going.

Hi Susie, I think your garden looks beautiful despite all the rain. Some of the flowers you showed with problems like the tall white spike one I also have the same problem with mine. Donโ€™t ever get milkweed because ever since I got them I have had problems with aphids and spider mites! Never ever had these problems before! Love the rudbeckia and straw flowers cosmoโ€™s and dahlias are gorgeous! Always look forward to your garden tours so Tyfs! ๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒธ
  • Susie I always get excited when you post! Looking beautiful. Glad everything made it through the flooding. What was the blue Veronica you said you grew from seed? Did I miss the variety name? Deanna
  • Whoa! The Color of the first Dahlia you showed is beyond gorgeous, and the Cosmos! I just love those colors โค๏ธ What variety of Astrantia is that? I just looked up Astrantia and I can grow it in my zone and I love the color of yours, so would like to try to find it. I remember the first time I saw your Hydrangea Fire Light? - the one you said you were going to get rid of if it doesnโ€™t bloom, you did an evening tour and it just stood out and looked like it was on fire, it was the way the sun was hitting it. I loved it so much I bought 2, very small ones though and am now waiting for them to bloom also. Iโ€™m sure that was the one I saw and canโ€™t believe you are not having luck with it. I had to take a stem of leaves off one of one of my other hydrangeas to the garden Center to get help with what was wrong as the some leaves are black around the edges and I guess itโ€™s too much water, we have had more rain this year than the last three together! Also the year for Aphids and everything is covered in sticky s***! Been a strange year for lots of us! Anyway, your gardens are beautiful! Take care Brenda๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ
  • Absolutely beautiful! I wish i could visit your garden in person! You have quite the green thumb! Those Rudibekia are gorgeous! i need to start some next year love those colors! Where did you buy the seeds for those?! I love your videos, always a treat, thanks for sharing it with us take care friend! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’œ

So you are having good luck with growing dahlias in pots?
  • Hi Susie, thank you for this video! I'm not too far away in Northern Illinois zone 5B. Sorry about the mosquitoes! Ours haven't been that bad yet, but I'll probably jinx it since we've started getting all the rain that you've been getting. We got a big storm yesterday with tornado warnings so we spent much of the evening in the basement. I loved seeing your cut flowers from seed. I started cut flowers this year in our new raised beds, and I just started a new YouTube channel to document everything. Yours are further ahead, this was my test year! Hope you can check my channel out Anne @MartinHouseFlowers ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿฆ‹
