In this Sydney Metro update video, I start with the latest changes at Waterloo Station, including the new station name signs, the canopies and the finished services building.

It's then to Central Station for a peek at the new Metro platforms below, and then an update on platforms 13 and 14 which now have new rails and sleepers. I also give you an update on the Randle Lane entrance.

At Gadigal Station, I'll show you how the Bathurst Street and Park Street entrance exits are progressing, and include some Sydney Metro clips of what is happening below.

I skip Martin Place Metro as I covered this as a separate video -    • Martin Place Metro Station Update - S...  , but I do mention the community open day that will be happening at this station on Sunday 5 May. Here is a link to this event. www.eventbrite.com.au/e/community-open-day-at-mart….

For Barangaroo Station, I give a brief update on the plaza and work happening alongside Hickson Road, and then show you Harry Lawson Reserve at McMahons Point. This is where a tunnel access shaft used to be.

After a brief update on Victoria Cross Station, I head to Crows Nest Station, which has changed quite a lot. You'll see the public art and great views of the lifts and escalators.

I wrap up by showing you the completed Northern Dive Services Facility that is on part of the Chatswood Dive Site construction area. And there is a new shared path connecting Mowbray Road with Nelson Street too.

Accuracy
I do my best to make the commentary in these videos as accurate as possible by checking facts on the internet and other sources. However, sometimes the information isn't available, so I'll use my railway knowledge and insight to explain something to the best of my ability. If accuracy is important, do check the comments, as other viewers will often pick up on things I've missed or any mistakes made. Also note that for older videos, things may change over time, causing some of the information to become out of date.

Construction Sites, Maintenance Facilities and other Private Property
All footage of construction sites, maintenance facilities and other private property is taken from a public vantage point. The only exception is if it's an open day or I have special permission to access the site. The iPhone's small lens and zoom function makes it easier to film through small gaps in hoardings or fencing, so it may look like I'm on site when I'm not! If you would like to know the exact filming location, then ask me in the comments.

Thanks for the thorough update Paul! How lucky we are to have you making these videos about all the progress on these Sydney projects for us to enjoy without leaving the comfort of our couch!
  • Just a note about the Martin Place open day webpage – it may say that it's sold out, but this is just referring to the first time option of 9:00. If you click the "More options" button, you can select another time of the day, where there are still tickets available.

I'm excited to use the bike path, now that I know it's up and running. Great update Paul!

Hi Paul 👋 I really enjoyed this update presentation, and I appreciate the effort you take to bring these to us. I am keen to see all these stations when they are in operation. Thanks again Paul for another amazing presentation. 👏
  • @wowjef
Thanks Paul. What I find fascinating, as with all recent station developments over the last few years, is the opportunity for attractive station design or re-devlopment. I imagine they have spread the work between different architects.

Amazing video! I am so excited for this to open soon. There’s so much of Sydney I want to explore that I haven’t been able to on the normal train line! So excited!
  • @anniemon

Paul: You've been a busy man. Thanks for this excellent edition and addition to your already great productions. Particularly the editing. Great surprise to see the train exiting towards Chatswood. All this progress has whetted my appetite to go on a train journey to inspect the progress.

Hi Paul! Thanks for another amazing update video. Love seeing how the Metro is coming along. Something I think might help viewers of the videos in future is if you were to put a Date stamp in the top corner while you're showing footage of sites and stations, that way you don't constantly have to say when you took the footage (and the audience doesn't have to try and remember which images were from which days). Cheers!
