I bet you the owner smelled Gas for weeks. Had several people come out and tell them they did not detect anything. I've experienced this several times. Most of the time. The people searching for the gas leak just tell the home owner it's part of a valve on the meter that sometimes lets gas out and not to worry.

Makes me all the more glad that my home is 100% electric. Albeit, I do prefer a gas stove for cooking.......

That's the result of those mandatory meter changes by BGE subsidiaries. I was threatened with my service being shut off unless I let a contractor "update" my meters.
