  • As a die hard mets fan for over 25yrs Stearns has easily been the best GM in a very very long time...
  • @jayisasalad
the prices were ridiculous, a decent haul for minimal risk
  • @bobdole7697
I'VE ALWAYS LIKE BRAZOBAN. OVERALL, PRETTY GOOD TRADE DEADLINE.
  • @TheTEN24
Solid job as long as we don’t need to use megill anymore
  • @ketorising81
He knows what he’s doing and seems to have a good relationship with a lot of other GM’s.
  • @Marcus-jb1cp
Yes - a decent haul for very little risk and not a lot of money. The financial guns are being loaded to sign Soto and hopefully resign Pete Alonso if he continues to build on what he has done in the last couple days or so.

Stearns Rose Douglas Mets Knicks Jets have done well for my present favorite NYC sports teams 🎉🎉🎉

I like this guy. I think he's honest and I think he's got a good mind for baseball.

I feel like this is a decent haul. A lot of my friends weren't pleased at all, but you have to remember the Mets weren't really "in" on this year, it was supposed to be a rebuild year or transition year or whatever. I think even if we make it to the wild card and that's it, the season was a largely unexpected success. The future is brighter if that's the case since we didn't give up major prospects this deadline as well. SERIES WIN TN PLS LGM

Every decision is just a process of risk management. In that context, I appreciate Stearns decisions to think of or hire on players with multi-tool capabilites and degrees of flexibility. As a Met fan there's always a bolt of lightning waiting to strike. But if you have a backup pair of rubber boots... one day, hopefully soon, we'll be in our third or fourth consecutive October and it will be time again to chase a Verlander or some sort of super star speciality player. For now lets just keep stocking up for our rainy days.
  • Good job on Winker and Brazoban. Did not do nearly enough. We have not a single dependable lefty in the pen and he acquired yet another 5th starter. Clearance bin garbage and Stearns reiterating that “the goal is to just make the playoffs” even when the team is the hottest team in baseball since June 1. So stearns is happy to be a top 12 team in a 30 team league. And Mets fans will be content with this as always. Stearns gets a C- (and to the guy telling everyone “get lost”, I’ll save you some time. Shut up.)
  • Got immediate impact and stability into next year for basically no cost. Considering the market I say its a huge win.
  • @ralelunar
I respect Stearns for not giving in to the insane prices. The Padres and Dodgers go crazy every deadline and have nothing to show for it.
  • @Manatti06
Respect the ans he gave here. "I can't play all my cards to you media guys", but I can tell you what was clearly visibly done :)
