Melanie Martinez - Cry Baby ๐ŸŽค
[Verse 1]
You seem to replace your brain with your heart
You take things so hard and then you fall apart
You try to explain, but before you can start
Those cry baby tears come out of the dark

[Pre-Chorus]
Someone's turning the handle to that faucet in your eyes
You pour it out where everyone can see
Your heart's too big for your body, it's why it won't fit inside
You pour it out where everyone can see

[Chorus]
They call you cry baby, cry baby
But you don't fucking care
Cry baby, cry baby
So you laugh through your tears
Cry baby, cry baby
Cause you don't fucking care
Tears fall to the ground
You'll just let them drown
You'll just let them drown
Cry baby, cry baby

[Verse 2]
You're all on your own and you lost all your friends
You told yourself that it's not you, it's them
You're one of a kind and no one understands
But those cry baby tears keep coming back again

[Pre-Chorus]
Someone's turning the handle to that faucet in your eyes
You pour it out where everyone can see
Your heart's too big for your body, it's why it won't fit inside
You pour it out where everyone can see

[Chorus]
They call you cry baby, cry baby
But you don't fucking care
Cry baby, cry baby
So you laugh through your tears
Cry baby, cry baby
Cause you don't fucking care
Tears fall to the ground
You'll just let them drown
Cry baby, cry baby
You'll just let them drown
Cry baby, cry baby
You'll just let them drown

[Breakdown]
I look at you and I see myself
I know you better than anyone else
I have the same faucet in my eyes
So your tears are mine

[Chorus]
They call me cry baby, cry baby
But I don't fucking care
Cry baby, cry baby
I laugh through my tears
Cry baby, cry baby
Cause I don't fucking care
Tears fall to the ground
I just let them drown
Cry baby, cry baby
I just let them drown
Cry baby, cry baby
You'll just let them drown
They call you cry baby, cry baby
I just let them drown
Cry baby, cry baby
You'll just let them drown

The thing that shocks me most about the song is how too perfectly it describes my life. Almost every lyric fits like a puzzle piece, and I feel worried that I relate to the song so well. From balling my eyes out, to slowly losing friends, feeling like a stranger to my close ones, to being more sensitive than everyone I know, and feeling different from my cheerful yet depressing family tree. I feel bad that I even relate to the song because I feel like I'm a brat or ungrateful for what I have by being a crybaby. At the same time however, I feel glad that this song exists. It makes me feel like someone has listened to my words and actually understood me.
  • She makes real situations in the most creative way possible thatโ€™s the most amazing thing about her songs she makes them in creative ways and we still understand whatโ€™s the song about

Iโ€™m an emotionally sensitive person and this song describes me so accurately that it makes me cry :โ€™)

I cry when i feel hopeless i cry when im mad i cry when i feel lonely i cry when i regret everything lol this song is very relatable, i felt it when melanie said "I look at you and i see myself" it made me feel less alone and although she used to be my favourite, her songs still hit hard
  • โ€œYouโ€™re all on your own, and you lost all your friendsโ€ Relatable. After time passed at school, I noticed my friends slowly ditching me. Especially once I began middle school. Well, one of them just had an extremely selfish friend who only wanted her to herself, but still. That friend still left.. I mean, we still talked and stuff, but I didnโ€™t consider her a friend anymore. She had already messed me around many times before, so I didnโ€™t see the point in trying again with her. And there was this boy who hated me for no reason. Maybe because I was shy. So, one day, a new boy showed up. I thought he was cute, so for once in my life, I made the first move. From day one, we were best friends. But, itโ€™s weird. That bully was perfectly fine with him before I spoke to him, and then as soon as we become friends.. he hated him too. I donโ€™t know what was wrong with him. He was like that with all my friends. Once they were my friend, they were his new target. I swear, if I could go back to school without him there, I wouldโ€™ve enjoyed it way more. I wouldnโ€™t call myself a crybaby, but I do cry over pretty much nothing sometimes. Spend more than 20 seconds trying to solve a maths problem? Start crying. Panicking about a future event that happens in 2 weeks? Start crying. Doesnโ€™t happen too much now, but a few years back I was probably way more of a handful to take care of. Iโ€™ve gotten better with the maths struggle, though. Iโ€™m learning better in homeschool than ever before, and Iโ€™m happier staying at home, especially now. This went EXTREMELY off topic I apologise- Edit: OK HOW IN THE HELL DID I GET OVER 300 LIKES, WHAT-
  • I can relate to this song. Iโ€™m tender hearted, so when my parents get mad with me, I can find myself bawling my eyes out like a little kid even though Iโ€™m an 18 year old now. Guess Iโ€™m a crybaby too.

When your fat they judge you When your skinny they judge you When your pretty they judge you When your tall they judge you When you are short they judge you When you sing they judge you WHEN YOUR ALIVE THEY JUDGE YOU But when you die โ€œHe/she was a good person I wish they lived longerโ€ โ€œI miss he/she so muchโ€
  • I love how she makes most of her videos from a childโ€™s perspective, It shows a lot of problems some children might have to go through that adults would overlook. Edit: okay, some of you guys donโ€™t understand what Iโ€™m saying, not all adults are like this and Iโ€™m very sorry if Iโ€™ve offended anyone :(

This song is my life. Not joking. I cry a lot, like, at LEAST once a day. The lyrics "They call me cry baby, cry baby, but I don't fxxking care" is real relatable for me. Everybody calls me a cry baby. but if they could the trauma and pain I've went through, since apparently the kids at my school have "never went through trauma." It's tiring. I wish that my peers could see that the biggest cry babies become the happiest in the world, they just don't know it.
