In this video I explain how a key safe can be opened when you don't know the combination.

No special tools are required.

This can also work on various other combination locks.

This video is for educational purposes, is under no circumstances intended to be misused, and is to also highlight how insecure these products are.

  • Thanks for showing people how to break into my house! Might as well just leave key under door mat now !
  • Thanks for this information. I now don’t feel at all safe in my own home.😢
  • Lots of holiday homes use these key safes,I’d never rely on one for my home though.I never did think they were very secure and now I know they arn’t.😅

Amazing demonstration found it in my recommended, watched with no audio whilst skipping through, got to the cam bit before skipping to the decoding part and i’m amazed, possibly the quickest brush over a video and learned a foundation how to open a key safe. Does this also work on combination locks? Most obvious design flaw that i never thought of.

That was great, Poklok! Very nice info and demo!
  • @desert-walker
Well, that’s good to know not that I’m ever gonna use it, but you just showed every criminal in the world how to break in, all locksmiths should not give their secrets away 😮😮 but I guess it’s too late for that since everyone is showing everyone how to break into locks, doors, cars, and everything else you can imagine
  • Thank you. Very useful to those whose work involves key safes, like the case industry. If a burglar want to access a key safe they are easy to force open
  • @rickywai6415
Thank you so much. I tried many different way and this one is the easiest.
  • This is going to make life much easier getting into my key safe when I’ve lost me keys and I’m absolutely bolloxed fumbling around with a bit of paper in the dark 👍
  • @RookKnight
Excellent information, and demonstration. I liked how you used a slip of paper👍🏻

I learned how to open bike combination chain locks for fun over 55 years ago. These boxes are often not well fixed to the wall, and so can be ripped off by a criminal and smashed with a hammer. They won’t worry about picking them. If you fit them, make sure they are not readily visible.

Wow, that's amazing how he did that! I use one of these in case the kids leave their key at home or lose Thier key. I don't think I will keep the key in there any more!
  • @avflyguy
Very Interesting. I have a small lock box that I've long ago forgot the combination. I shall try this post haste!
  • @PocketWomen
That was am excellent demonstration. Really clear visuals on what was happening. Thanks for this video, cheers
  • @Baltihunter
Superb video. I’ll have to try it on mine

At the back of my key box my son has fixed a 120 volt cable so I have to go to another hidden place in my garden to turn the power off before touching the key box which is live. My son did this because he said “ it’s only a matter of time mum before some Pratt on YouTube finds a way to open the key safe and shows thieves how to open it” At least if they try on my box they are in for a surprise.
  • Certainly interesting. Some self-collect AirBNBs love to use these locks to hold the key.

These useless security products have been on sale for years. The manufacturers are aware of it and choose not to improve them. (The insurance industry too presumably.) The more of us who know about it the better.
