What does ‘Hands Free Driving’ even mean?

Thank you Ford for sponsoring this video! Today we are taking a brand-new Ford Mustang Mach-E® SUV for a drive... without using our hands! BlueCruise uses externally facing sensors and a driver-facing camera, as well as a GPS database to determine if you can drive hands free. The Ford BlueCruise Level 2 Advanced drivers assistant is impressive. I’ve gone more than 30 minutes without ever touching the steering wheel! Obviously, I'm still in charge of the vehicle, and I'm still paying attention to my surroundings and the road in-front of me.

Fully sponsored post and an "active service plan" both makes me a little sad.
  • "This video is sponsored by Ford" That tells you everything you need to know.
  • I canceled my Blue Cruise subscription because everytime my Mach E went around a turn, it would bounce between the lines trying to center itself and then deactivate the blue cruise because it was bouncing to much left to right. You did not have this issue?

“Consumer reports says it’s number one!” Hahahahahahahahahahaha

The fact that people think this is a review when "This video is sponsored by ford" scares me. Like do people even read?
  • So it almost works on all “controlled access highways” and it somehow beat Tesla FSD that works on all roads, including parking lots? Good to see Consumer Reports isn’t at all biased. We know who’s going to have door to door hands free driving first and it certainly isn’t Ford.

You can get this same automated driving feeling on public transport
  • Tons of videos out of people driving Tesla's latest Tech on FSD 12.3 and it is absolutely mind-blowing. While it isn't 100% it appears so close. I have watched 7 or 8 videos of people driving around, including Uber drivers and such, and it is just crazy how far this has come
  • In my opinion, OpenPilot still outperforms Super Cruise (GM) and Blue Cruise, but falls behind Tesla's.

"Blue cruise is not overbearing overbearing either . . . I can look away and . . . or adjust the music on the radio" "Ding dong. You are wrong dude, I'm overbearing"
  • @clausmygind3319
That doesn’t seem very useful to only be able to use on interstate highways. Heck I can do more with my Volvo. I’d rather have a Tesla

BlueCruise is great unless you were an early adopter. We’re stuck with the scary v1.0 that likes to hug the wrong side of the lane. I’ve actually taken mirror damage b/c of this. Ford corp if you see this, you need to help us early adopters…we know there is no HW limitation.
