  • No ego and he said "Thank you" at the end! Talented and humble! Voilà!

I love it when a chef loves what they’re doing so much that they really get into their food and congratulate themselves on their own cooking!
  • Thank you, chef . It looks delicious. I've been telling my family this is the best way to make French toast for ages. Talented and humble

Dear Jean, MyGerman mother used to make this just like yours, so I know it's top of the line! Perfect to the ones who want the true French Toast! Not a speedy recipe or a fancy recipe. Just what us oldtimer Germans jumped out of bed for! Lookers, look no further. This is the vintage German method (too) even with some fruit. You you cannot get any purer than this if you want very old methods that give you perfect French Toast that I was fed in the morning in the 50's from someone born in the range of 1900. Merci Jean!

"The Very Very Light Way" 3 TBSP butter and nearly a cup of brown sugar, that's my sort of Very Very Light, this guy gets it!

This looks like a great way to have french toast. I grew up in a French Canadian home, and my mother added a little real maple syrup instead of brown sugar, but added cinnamon, and a little nutmeg in with the egg. With real maple syrup on top. What a way to start the day.

  • Finally a chef who knows his craft so well that he doesn't need acting before camera.
  • @elllamay
I love the little french expressions that slip though like 'c'est parti' lol

"gentle, very gentle." aggressively turning the breads

I started using brioche to make French toast several years ago and WOW! It really took it to another level. I had always had just regular white bread French toast. Can never go back now.
