Sidebars can be a crucial asset to any website. Divi facilitates the creation of sidebars by giving developers the power to design completely custom sidebars for post or page templates using the Divi Theme Builder. Once Divi users choose a column structure with desired sidebar area, they have the option to create sidebar content using WordPress widget areas, Divi Modules, or a combination of both to build sidebar content with Divi Modules, or both!

In this post, we are going to give you a quick guide on how to use sidebars with the Divi Theme Builder. We’ll cover how to properly create a sidebar area for your templates, as well as how to populate the sidebar with content. This will allow you to incorporate existing sidebars on new Divi templates as well as build new sidebars for any number of templates throughout your website.

Well done! I have been building in Divi for a while, and the widget has always been a sticking point. Thanks!

It's very nice, but what you don't say and show is that once you start using Divi Theme Builder you are stuck with it. You cannot edit your post in visual builder anymore, while it is where you have more flexibility. That's the word! With Divi Theme Builder there is no more flexibility but it looks great. You cannot add dividers between the sections of the template for example. So it's very nice but it's very restricting. That is from experience. It does not change that your videos are really helpful. Thank you for that.

For f.. sake... I've been spending hours now figuring out this sidebar mystery - to no avail! What I want is to have a custom-designed sidebar that shows automatically at all of my: - blog pages - category pages - posts Surely this must be a pretty common use case and there must be a way to this, but with this video you basically have a custom sidebar wiping out the entire post! Blank screen and a side bar. What the hell is the point then?? EDIT: figured out that this tut really has to be combined with this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSDtlO4OLP8 Do that and you're not dealing with empty pages... makes sense of if get the logic behind Divi but for beginners this can take a while to find out.

Hi, I have a question how to edit the sidebar menu in divi to fit the look of the page. I mean adding a menu background and frames between words.

Thank you so much for the video. I followed your lesson, however, I get a message that I need to add unique content within the Theme Builder template.
  • What if you want to add more than one sidebar, each with different widget content? How do you do that?
