In case this is your first Scotty Kilmer video, a summary of the video is this: Scotty doesn't like CVT transmissions
  • @adkforester5428
Can you imagine if everyone kept vehicles 20,30,40 years like Scotty, the overall carbon footprint would drop significantly without having to go EV
  • @dundundata7603
I've had my '23 CR-V hybrid for almost a year and it has been great. Very smooth, fairly quick, quiet and comfortable, tons of space, and excellent gas mileage.
  • @jaredjean3698
2014 Honda Crv with 145k no issues. Transmission was sluggish, new tranny oil and she's purring.
  • @jayo8484
5:26 “the angels are with us” lol 😂… it does sound like that thoug
  • @hey_brah
I have a 2002 2.4 honda CRV auto here in Australia with 367k kms on it and it still runs fine. I'll have to say the old 2.4s are unbelievable.
  • @jogalong
Still driving 2001 civic. The older it gets, the prouder i am
  • @barrelrush
A little minor addition Honda's eCVT isn't actually a transmission, there's no gearbox nor belt, it is actually, JUST the electric motor The gas/petroleum engine only connects to the wheels via 6th gear at very rare instances (usually highway speeds) So the electric motor isn't really there to "boost" it, it's doing the bulk of the driving!

I've had my 1976 Oldsmobile 442 for 45 years now. It stopped being a daily driver in 1987. However I do take it on cross country trips every now and then.
  • @jimparsons61
I've got a 2013 CRV the year before. They came out with the Turbo charge. 1.5 and still has a 4 speed. Automatic transmission that I'm happy with.
  • @jpierce1987
I just picked up a 24 Civic Hatchback 2.0 L 6 Speed Manual last week and I'm loving it! 40 mpg and it's super smooth. The hill start assist is amazing! Overall fun car to drive and looking forward to many years of reliability.
  • @traxx1023
Do currently own the 23’ CR-V exl trim, and it’s a great family car, reliable and pretty quick.
  • @mrgarrison3516
4:17 RAV 4 in the 2 liter is CVT, so if u live outside of USA know that the 2.5 is normal automatic & 2.0 is CVT (& of course hybrid is e-cvt )
  • @austincod21
Love my 10th gen hatch 45,000 miles strong right now
  • @lazyrider6918
2015 Honda Cr-V Ex that I THANKFULLY bought used with 65K miles pre pandemic for $13k. Ticked over 112K miles this week and only changed fluids, oil and tires. I can sell it for more than I paid with the additional 45K miles I put on it in today's market. Honda CVTs are another breed. I was a little hesitant at first, but I change the transmission fluid every 30k and it is humming along smoothly. I have seen some for sale with 280K miles on them and still asking $10k. My old Subaru Outback blew 2 head gaskets within 80k miles so I went back to Honda.
  • @meandshe1518
2014 Civic - 40+ mpg combined, 45+ on the highway. It has no turbo, a small engine, and little power but it does the job reliably.
  • @johngaffney8199
If it's a hybrid it has a 2.0 naturally aspirated engine. the non-hybrid has the 1.5 turbo.
  • I bought the ‘24 Touring hybrid and I love this car. Comfortable, quiet, just a sweet car. Only thing that bothered me is no fog lights, but, getting used to that. Absolutely no regrets. And the Touring has leather trimmed seats. So comfortable. Went thru a drive thru yesterday and the guy at the window commented how quiet the car was. Just love her!
