"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Thank you, Akira Toriyama, for playing such a huge role in many our childhoods.
  • @viIIaneIIe
”It was thanks to Dragon Ball that going to school became fun. Toriyama sensei, you're my hero, my goku. I sincerely thank you for everything." -Yûgo Kobayashi - Ao Ashi
  • @CrissAuriel
Someone told me recently "you know how you realize you're becoming old? Its when all your childhood heroes start to pass away", and now those words are hiting really hard.
  • He was the Stan Lee of the manga and anime Akira Toriyama he'll always live on

Goku's first Super Saiyan transformation in the Frieza Saga is one the most memorable Dragon Ball moments i will never forget.
  • @grennbalze
Tien holding down Cell with his Shin Kikoho is easily my favorite moment. Knowing he was vastly outmatched, and that he would eventually fail, he went out to do whatever he could, and surprised everyone with how far he could push himself
  • Funny enough, I was reading a post about Toriyama a few weeks ago. And I heard that when he created Frieza's iconic Final Form, it was apparently inspired by the imaginary monsters he saw as a little kid. The fact that he took something so personal and added to his work just shows how much Dragon Ball meant to him.

"Go Toriyama... teach a dinosaur how to ride a ball."

Akira Toriyama is up there in the afterlife, now. Watching over us all. We'll never forget the incredible legacy he left behind.

RIP Akira Toriyama, the GOAT of manga...
  • @BurrShotHam711
11 year old Gohan going SSJ2 and then kicking the crap out of Cell was amazing!
  • @luke_1234
Kevin Conroy, Jason David Frank, and now Akira Toriyama. My childhood is dying before my eyes and there’s nothing I can do about it :(
  • "Nail, gather the dragonballs. We need to bring him back!" ~Super Kami Guru. I was about 8, or 9 when I saw the first DBZ Super Sayain transformation. Watching Krillin die shook me to my core, and then watching Goku not only fulfill the legend, but also kick Freeza's ass, was something that will always be a fond childhood memory. Thank you Toriyama Sensei.
  • Goku first going Super saiyan 3 has to be one of my favorite moments... of course everything on this list is awesome as well... R.I.P. Akira Toriyama
  • Akira Toriyama left behind one hell of a legacy. He'll never be forgotten thanks to what he gave us.
  • RIP to Akira Toriyama. You not only created one of the greatest anime Franchaise in the Dragon Ball Series, but also have influenced future animes years to come. Thank you Akira, may you rest in peace.

#9 is my favorite anime moment of all time - the one that got me into the art form as a whole. It’s nostalgia, it’s perfection, it’s epic, it’s tear jerking in context, thank you Toriyama
