To pump out its famous flavors like Half Baked and Cherry Garcia, Ben & Jerry's Vermont plants run 24-7, operated by hundreds of workers and flavor gurus. Business Insider visited the St. Albans factory back in 2019 to see how these iconic pints flip their way to our freezers.

“The company doesn’t want it going bad in the back of your fridge” bold of you to assume it makes it there. Usually it goes straight from store to stomach.

“They don’t want it to go bad in the back of your freezer”… like I would ever let that happen lol it’d be long gone by then! Their ice cream is the best.

I think the real reason they don’t sell a gallon is because how expensive it would be.
  • Ben: i can't really taste anything Also ben: the founder of ice cream empire
  • Love chunky monkey. But I’m discovering other pints that come close to number one Americone turned out to be a delightful and unexpected surprise - wasn’t sure I was going to like the cone part - and it really makes this flavor. Loved seeing the care Ben and Jerry’s takes with this Ice cream

I have to say my absolute favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry's is Cherry Garcia something about the flavor with the chocolate and the cherries just is so good.

"Ben & Jerry's is worried the ice cream would go bad sitting in the back of the freezer" - Trust me it wouldn't.
  • @austinb5028
They make 100 flavors a year and narrow it down to 4, which makes me believe my favorite flavor of ice cream probably existed only to be thrown out
  • For everyone saying it's overpriced, that's because it's all ethically sourced and this product is made in America. Other brands outsource their labor which makes it cheaper. So if you do buy this ice cream, all the money is staying within the USA :)

Ben and Jerry's are producing nearly a million pints a day. Me: takes me 24hrs to get out of bed, another 24hrs to start doing something productive.
  • @skrill2125
Ben and Jerry's is my favourite desert from now and on.

I smiled way too early in the video ... just the word alone makes me happy 😆
  • @cait.
It’s the chunks of brownies in Half Baked that get me 🤤
  • @amenays
I was eating ben & Jerry's and this popped up in my recommendations...
  • @mattioder
I don't think they'll have to worry about making a million pints a day anymore maybe a million b a week or a million pints a month as long as they keep hating on their customers

I work at the Waterbury factory, the picture they attribute to St. Albans is actually us. I’m a mix maker, didn’t know I was a “Mix Master” until this video.
