Info:
J. was also was a programmer, digital editor, and mixer for this album.

"'The Consumation' is an independently released album from the band HURT. It was released 3 years before "Vol. 1". Only 2,000 copies were sold, with another 3,000 promotional versions distributed. Other full length copies were distributed for free as well. J. Loren Wince was the only current member of the band present during the recording of the record.

There are two versions of this album in existence. Both versions have the same songs on them, however the original case for the album is a CD sleeve and not a standard jewel case.

The second printing of the album came with additional funding and was released in a jewel case, but not the original cover art, instead, sporting a black and red color scheme. This reprinting of the album has stirred some controversy as it was printed with permission of J. Loren to help promote the band, but has since been continually reprinted and sold at very high prices through 'eBay.' Allowing the fans to purchase the original material without paying an outrageous amount of money was the primary reason the band chose to release 'The Re-Consumation.'

The sound quality of this CD is very raw/unmixed. The song, 'Cold Inside' was stated to have been recorded with a room full of people moving about to give it an 'imperfect sound.'"

THANK YOU for this and the info. If only they knew how their music kept me alive. As I'm sure it did for many others. All the love.
  • One of the most amazing melancholic albums in existence. Love the sound, atmosphere and temperament of this masterpiece.

Re was a good album by default because it is this collection of songs, But the sound of The Consumation is lost in Re. So glad this exists here. I see from my recommendations you also put their Self Titled Up. As a long term fan of the band who no longer has the MP3s for these two albums I can not express my thanks enough.
