Think financial independence look up Donald Nathan Scott.

There's pros and con's when living on a house boat. Anyone thinking of doing this may try renting first, or spending a weekend or a few on a sleeper boat to get an idea on what its like to live on the water. She is not discussing storms, cold weather, smells associated with water/docks, noisy neighbors, boats coming and going, sometimes issues with power, water, sewer systems provided by dock services, etc.

Itโs beautiful to see this lovely woman so happy. I wish her the best

My wife and I lived there for 10 years in a floating home and as the saying goes, โthe two best times to own a floating home is the day u take ownership and the day u sell it.

It's a really worrying trend, but what's worse is that most people are closing their eyes to reality. Life in this country has become unaffordable due to politics. Now people have to live on boats and in "tiny houses" - of course, this is bitter and a real shame in the richest country in the world, but you should talk about it. In our society, there should be living space for everyone.

I have a friend who at one time was a housesitter. She would look after houses while people travelled. You move every few weeks or months to another location. She was able to avoid paying rent this way for 8 years. She also did boat sitting for clients for a three year period.

Considering the outrageous cost of housing in Toronto, this is a great deal.
-
Good on her for finding a soultion to still live in Toronto!
-
Looks like the Scarborough Bluffs in the background.

October of 2020 bought with inheritance and borrowed money. So even house boats are unaffordable now!
-
Here we go! Million dollar house boats with basements for rent.

She has a cozy and idyllic home in an exciting city. I love this story. It is very inspiring.
-
Good for her, she looks so wholesome

$2000 in fees month is crazy. Even with the crazy housing prices in Toronto. You had $300k which could have been a good downpayment and then $2000 a month towards a mortgage. Could have bought a condo downtown of similar size.

They only filmed a little of winter โ๏ธ Trust me, when itโs -20c out, you donโt wanna be anywhere near that water

One of the 25 float houses was listed recently for $700,000 CAD.
