World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in Myanmar in 2018

Deadliest Roads - Benin:    • Deadliest Roads | Benin | Free Docume...

In this acclaimed series, we journey on some of the world’s most dangerous routes and explore the lengths people go to in order to change their destinies.

In North-West Myanmar, in the most mountainous region of the country, moving around is an adventure. Travelling in his truck, Khampi faces the dangerous roads – or rather the tracks – with courage and calm. The state of the roads is a serious handicap for the people, but it has allowed the country to preserve its beauty, its authenticity and its traditions. Young Sokna is carrying on an ancient ritual: the kiss of death. Legend has it that by kissing the head of a Royal Cobra three times, the village women will quickly fall pregnant. A journey into the heart of Myanmar, far from the tourist tracks.

We are In Myanmar 🇲🇲 today  What do you know about Myanmar? When I hear this country’s name, I think Asia, Southeast Asia to be more precise, minorities, and Aung San Sun Kyi, the PM Of Myanmar who hasn’t been doIng anything to defend the minorities being persecuted ie lots of human rights violations. Nothing to see here was her MO. And to think she won the Nobel Peace Prize.   I know I know. It’s TGIF - and we want the appropriate entertainment.   Don’t worry - this doc isn’t about politics but you should have an idea of what goes on in the world. I suggest reading the Wiki page or similar for starters if the region interests you beyond the beautiful countryside.  Our doc takes us across magnificent landscapes, traveling on some of Myanmar’s scarier roads especially during Monsoon season. We follow Ko So Moe, a tour guide, who travels across the country formerly known as Burma to find the best places to see. It’s his first time as well. He wishes to open a new tourist trail, connecting Mandalay, the big city to the Rih Dil lake.  Enjoy! Before we go, if you love what we do, please consider becoming a member for $3 a month. I’ve watched so many documentaries of different cultures, roads, lifestyle, etc., but this one stood out to me. It’s the first time I’ve seen people so naturally helpful towards each other, they seem to have sincere concern for one another and their positive mindset is inspiring. Thinking about the current situation there is heartbreaking and I hope things will get better there soon.

I'm a truck driver in the US and it's amazing what these guys do.
  • The truck driver is an amazing guy, he seems to absorb anything thrown at him and come out smiling. A world full of people like him could achieve almost anything
  • I was born and raised from this region!! The road is very dangerous especially in rainy season!!😢😢 I'm very proud for the drivers!!😇😇 I pray to be better the road so that no one doesn't need to risk their life!!🙏🙏💪💪

It's not the roads nor journeys I am focusing on. It's the drivers, operators, conductors, captains that all inspire me! So the title 'World's best/bravest drivers' would fit more. They can be anyone 's role model. Thank you for showing us the true beauty of humanity!

Ah ah ah. For the cow, the end of the journey truly marks the end of life. The narrator's sense of rhetoric is just priceless.
  • Watching here from Philippines, i could say we are fortunate from our neighboring sea nation. I Love the positivity of your drivers we are the same too.
