Hogs from the Logs in Muskoka

Published 2010-08-01
Here's some big girls from less that 3 feet of water tucked tight to the logs.
Fished with a 5" soft plastic Senko style bait rigged weightless on a 4/0 hook.
Watermelon or Black were the hot colors.
The 3rd fish smashes at my bait missing it.
But he ate it on the next cast...
One great Muskoka day.

  • Being weightless, the worm (senko in this case), slides easily thru the grass. I use either a 5" or 6", rigged Texas style, on a 5/0 wide gap hook. 10 to 15 lb. line depending on the lake. Probably my favorite Bass Bait. Thanks for asking 72pantera. check out our message board at fishmuskoka

You rig the worm weightless, without a bullet weight? Doesn't the grass collect on the head of the hook/worm?
  • I'd never name the Lake on the internet pattiwak5555. That wouldn't be a nice thing to do if it was a Lake close to you. You gotta keep those gems to yourself now days or they get ruined. I have an idea about the name so I'll send you a P.M.
