Nothing Like Waiting Until The Last Minute- Days before plant 2021 we're tearing down the planter for some major upgrades. We are going to be installing a brand new Exact Emerge Performance Upgrade Kit from John Deere. We will be able to plant with better accuracy up to at least 10 MPH, which will make our planter more efficient.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

You need to interview Jim so we can learn about him. He is a hard worker. Love to know his story.
  • @RavensHater007
From small town farmer to interviewing the Secretary of Ag!...Crazy how much this channel has grown!
  • @mattanderson344
It’s amazing how on one Pod cast you are all professional with the Secretary of AG and on the other you interview a guy with the name Quick Dick McDick.
  • Our dog "Dog" often likes to sleep in the tall grass next to the driveway, even in the rain. It's his life and it's something he chose to do. Funny how independent he likes to be until meal time, just like. me. Gotta love dogs.
  • @EricWall
Every farm has a Jim I think, I know we have one and we couldn’t do it with out him!
  • @IndergaardAcres
When Jim tipped over the row units, it reminded of the scene in Peewee’s Big adventure when he tipped over all the motorcycles at the biker bar. Classic.
  • @stevewalker9449
We need an interview with Jim sometime and get his story.Maybe on Off the Husk?
  • @bighouse1283
Honestly Zach I was waiting for the row units to fall the other way once you stood them up, lol. THEN we would get the inevitable HOLY BUCKETS from Jim!🤬🤣
  • Your lucky to have a guy like Jim a guy like that is worth more than you know treat him right !!!!!!

Tip from a guy that has done several of these retro fits over the past winter. When you go to put the new backbone harness in; take the floor out between the CCS tanks and use a ratchet strap to hold up all the other wiring and hydraulic hoses so you can run the new wiring and hoses underneath of it. Creates a lot more room to work with.
  • "Where are you 10?" when looking through a toolbox might just be the most (family friendly anyway) thing uttered by mechanics everywhere.
  • @mattthomas3207
Zach,, as someone that works on ag and heavy machinery on a daily basis as much money as you guys invest in your operation and do your own maintenance i think a trolley crane in your shop would be super useful

Zach: Shoots the ball wayyyyyyy over the hoop and says "CLOSE"😂😂😂
