In this painting I reveal the process of a vertical composition of a waterfall on rocks. The use of cool colors and the different action of the brushes, and multi directional strokes are covered in this demonstration. All work is copyrighted and the property of the artist. If you share, please request permission and contact me at the contact list below. Thank you!

Supplies: Arches 4.5x6 inch 140 lb. watercolor paper, cold press. (a 9x12 cut in half).

Daniel Smith Watercolor paints: Lemon Yellow, Pthalo Blue, Cobalt Blue (or Antwerp Blue works), Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Payne's Grey, and perhaps a touch of Cerulean Blue, and Titanium White. Calcium Carbonate powder can make the white paint more opaque but this is an optional ingredient and is not required.

Brushes: 3/4" flat slanted hog hair brush, 3 angled flat brush (sometimes called a rigger or dagger or sword brush), fine tip round brush, size 1 or 2 will work.

Music: Free download, title: "Beautiful"

I always give credit for my inspiration to Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior, who saved my life miraculously more than once and for healing me of cancer, and for giving me the talent to paint and share. I am grateful for every day I have and for being able to testify of his wonderful love and for the talent he gave me. To him goes all the glory!
