Hello my dear friends.
I am happy to share a new restoration story with you. Our guest in this story is an antique magnifying glass.
The product of Henry Hughes & Son Ltd, which was produced between 1828 and 1941.
My guess is it's a marine product. I learned from a few of my sailor friends that this is a map reading magnifier.
I worked very hard in this restoration and gave all my effort. I did some pretty intense brass metal crafting. I completed the missing parts with my antique lathe and oxygen welding.
If you have any questions about technical issues, please write, I will be happy to answer.

I am very happy that I chose this product, quite a unique and beautiful piece. I hope you like it too.

I would be happy if this video gives you some good time while you drink your coffee.
It's great to see you here.
Don't forget to like and subscribe if you like it. I would be glad.
I greet you all sincerely.

Best regards.

  • My dear Gentleman, What a beautiful magnifying glass! Why doesn't they make things like this anymore? So I am very happy you took well care of it and restored it for Meine Mechaniker's gulet! 🙂 As I am getting older, I sometimes wish I had one for my music reading. Beautiful restoration, my friend! And I simply love your storytelling! From one gentleman to another: Thank you! Cheers!

What I wouldn't give for an ounce of this gentlemans talent.
  • This is beautiful. So glad you left it as the original brass rather than painting it.

In those days things were practical, functional, robust and aesthetically pleasing. Beautiful restoration.

Very nice. Reminds me of the guy who restores priceless paintings, also in this venue.
