If I had to say again a long time coming but an enjoyable long time. and a truly beautiful story, and I am honestly looking forward to season 2 now starting with the art style, animation, and color design. incredible for all three categories, but I don't like beating around the bush compared to frieren. this series and that one are two of the same with the same issues as well as the same phrases. for all three categories with that said, this one had way more stunning, eye-catching visuals. and I think it's due to the story, though when I say that this one is based on the 1800s in Japan, it's kind of fun to watch a fake story. base itself in a real-time period in history it's like, for example, making a fake story about the Great Wall of China. We have seen that before, too. this has a similar idea, and knowing it's a drama, mystery series, I can understand why this one has more eye-catching visuals. now, when it comes to the sound effects, quite surprising, there is a good amount of bass mostly to hype up the mystery points of the story. and I definitely enjoyed it, and it was a smart use of bass. Even though that wasn't the main focus, I will explain what I mean in a second. the voices were always loud and clear. The characters had plenty of low-end as well as separation between the characters. the surround effects were incredible. Now I will say I think this is where the main focus was in the series. and I will say the bass definitely helped it along as well, but there is so much clarity all around you from outdoor to indoor scenes. it never really felt like there was ever a moment of quiet. There was always something going on in the background. even if it was just the wind blowing, it was quite incredible and lifelike either way I hope everyone else enjoys.
