I love how the Mario Kart 8 theme fits so well with the game and it's soundtrack
  • It’s like the black paint is sentient; meaning that the paint has a mind of its own. So it possesses bowser’s mind to use him as a vessel to carry out its evil ambitions of covering the whole world in black paint. I feel very sorry for bowser because the black paint also caused him to be more ruthless such as draining princess peach of her color and putting her lifeless paper husk into a picture frame.

Black Bowser's Castle.....the only level in Chapter 7, that's why it's my favorite.

11:27 Did you see what the Shy Guy said? 'Wish I could visit Port Prisma...' I feel sorry for all the enemies in this game who are stuck working for Bowser for ever and not able to do what they want.

The story: Princess Peach gets sent a mysteriously drained-of-color Toad. It is stamped from Port Prisma, so Mario and co. go investigate there. However, the entire town has many colorless spots that look just like that one Toad in the mail. The only alive inhabitant other than Mario, Peach, and Toad is Huey, a paint bucket designed to keep the color fountains of Port Prisma intact. He gets turned into paper by Mario and adventures alongside him on a quest to save Port Prisma and everything on it from this mysterious color shortage. But then, Peach gets kidnapped! So now Mario has two goals, to save the Paint Stars and Princess Peach. Along the way, they find Paint Stars that color new areas and make them accessable. Then, Mario finds a Big Paint Star that is worth a lot more than an average Paint Star, and so his hammer and jump strength grows, and so does his health. After finding more Paint Stars and Big Paint Stars, the story becomes clear: Bowser took a trip to Port Prisma and just wanted to be bathed in the rainbow color of the fountain, as he thought it would make his shell look cool. However, he accidentally mixed all the colors together and drowned himself in Black Paint, which is said to make anyone evil and selfish. He then, possessed by the Paint, ordered his troops to steal all the Paint Stars, which brung all of the color to Port Prisma, and hide them everywhere. Explained in the Manual under Secret Stuff, it is said he then drained Peach of color because adding Pink paint, which Peach possesses, would make his black paint ever stronger. He continued down a path of strange hallucinations and madness, until Mario finally gathered all the Big Paint Stars, which both made a Rainbow Road leading to Bowser's Castle, now Black Bowser's Castle, and repainted Luigi's kart so Mario could travel up the road. He then meets Bowser after dealing with his massive bombs factory, and tries to knock the Black Paint off of him by attacking. Bowser finally realizes what he is doing and shortly reverts to his old self, confused and alarmed as to why Mario is in his castle, unaware that he is being controlled by the Paint. But then, the Paint grows back onto him, stronger than ever, and now Bowser, possessed again, uses the Paint that Mario knocks off of him to attack. This forces Mario to use Huey in his standard, 3-dimensional form, to absorb the Black Paint that Bowser shoots back to ensure that it stays off of him. Then, Bowser uses a Final Breath attack that shoots not only all of his Black Paint, but his Colored Paint as well. Eventually, Mario absorbs this using Huey, and Bowser is defeated. Mario colors Peach with his paint hammer, and escape off of the tower. But, Huey stays due to his true purpose: Getting rid of all the black paint. He absorbs the entire castle, nearly blowing him up, and then flies off to transport all of it's black paint to a faraway land. It is unknown if Huey died or not. Port Prisma gets all of it's color returned, and all is well. The End.

My first paper mario was Super. I’ve played 64, TTYD, SS, and CS, and all of them are great. Each of them are different, and that’s what I like about all of the games. If they stuck to the original concept for all of the games, it would have gotten really stale really fast. I’m glad the old combat system is returning (most likely), but I still really enjoyed the Stickers and the Cards, and I’m excited to see what Origami King is about. Thanks for listening to my TED Talk.

1:27 ok, seems like Nintendo knows that the music from N64 Rainbow Road is one of the best songs ever made.

Bowser...wasn't the bad guy...he was actually very wholesome...he was just corrupted
  • Bowser just wanted to have fun with paint like the Toads are, he even wanted to turn his shell into a rainbow color, but instead he mixed up all the rainbow colors and turn it into Black Paint, and now the Black Paint takes over Bowser’s body and possess his mind, now It commands Bowser’s minions to steal all the paint from Prism Island to make Black Paint Bombs to paint the whole world black.

Huey is probably one of the best party members in this entire series

As a little kid I was always terrified of beating the game cause I already knew the ending and didn’t wanna cry at Huey’s death😭 man this game is heavily flawed and I resent a handful of things about it in retrospect but the memories, especially of the story and dialogue, are forever incredible. A major step forward from Sticker Star into what would eventually be the wonderful Origami King
