They also chose to use an agent that was very weak and used way below recommended treatment dosages that would do little or nothing to effect the proper treatment to the study patients. They can use or abuse statistics in any study that does not involve a very large number of study patients so that the degrees of freedom applied neglects that any statistically significant positive effects were detected. One trick in cancer treatment testing is where the comatose severely diseased patient about to die within the next few hours is enrolled in the study, and then their imminent death is blamed on a treatment that was either unable to be applied in time or was too little, and way too late in the dying process. The same could be done with a person whose heart attack already happened and who is at death's doorstep and so cannot receive the treatment protocol, lest his or her heart failure be instantly repeated.
