  • 11 months later I finally made this exact recipe and loved it with one exception. I dropped the sliced potatoes in already boiling water for exactly 10 minutes, drain the water then cooked for only 3 minutes. I microwaved two Bar S Polish Sausages for 2 minutes and cut them up and dropped them in. Thank goodness I live alone and don't have to share them with anyone.

My Mom used to make potatoes like this and that was over half a century ago. Brings back memories. Maybe I’ll make them tonight for dinner. ❤️

I've just cooked this to accompany our meal this evening. Thank you! It was amazing! I didn't have any Cajun spices, so substituted with some chilli flakes, but it tasted delicious. I'll definitely make it again!
  • Been eating potatoes like this my whole life, for breakfast with eggs and chili on top....and dinner ......i love making them with pork chops or meatloaf. Can never go wrong with fried potatoes. Love your video.

You did it again! Hubby love the potatoes, even though I cooked these smothered potatoes before, your recipe is great!
  • @janinecox256
Looks delicious, that is how my granny made those potatoes as a treat for Sunday morning breakfast!

This has become one of my favourite breakfast dishes. Sometimes I add shredded cabbage as well as the onion but however it’s cooked it always turns out great. A couple of fried eggs are a great addition to get extra protein but it’s a great breakfast whatever. Nice to have another vegetarian breakfast option and the spice is a great morning kick! Great video and very clear instructions. More vegetarian meals would be great 🌿. Thanks from England, UK.
  • Thank you I’m 77 yrs in Palliative Hospice care. You are Great!!!!!!!!
  • This is how my mom prepared potatoes while I was growing up and I had forgotten about them because during my working years there didn't seem to be time to cook at home we were so busy. Thank you for reminding me. When I prepare them I think I will add some fresh garlic being careful not to burn it. God bless you!
  • That's one of my favorite side dishes...my mother showed me how to make them at a young age. Now your recipe looks so good.

This recipe IS delicious. I've been making potatoes this way for 45 years, but, I leave the skins on because that's where the vitamins are. You can also put this recipe in the oven and top with shredded sharp cheddar that gets a golden, crusty top. Awesome! Or, you can top with a little sour cream & chives. Russets and baby reds are my two favorite potatoes. Well, I must say I DO love a baked sweet potato with butter on top. Yummy!. Thanks for all the delicious recipes from a long time subscriber! Having grown up in South Florida, my family has been eating your recipes for decades. You do a wonderful job in the prep, cooking, garnishing and presentation. You do that so well I can smell the aromas of great food. You are a wonderful cook. Thanks for bringing back my childhood!

This video got my attention,it looked the best out of the choices. Thank you for the ingredients. I like the chicken broth added to the side and cover to cook through fast. She is good at explaining everything. She represents a modern American woman with class, what a blessing.

  • @theresat6656
I made these. What a difference from how I learned and have been making fried potatoes all my life. Out with the old and in with the new!!!! Thanks so much for this recipe. I made mine for dinner…paired them with a steak and grilled veggies…so dang good!
  • I'm from Alabama. We make these in a cast iron skillet, and add some bell pepper, instead of the powder (paprika) and maybe a dash of cayenne, and some cubed ham or crumbled bacon. Scramble some eggs = killer breakfast! Great channel, cher!
