OSU alum & this game makes me cry everytime. Did an extended cross-country road trip in june 2018 (moving & visit baseball parks + national parks), and wondered if the beavers might make an omaha run & could time being there while not skipping hikes or parks i wanted to see. Really needed circumstances to play out with beavs playing the most games possible & rain delays. On this day, exhaustedly came from rocky mtn nat park to a random sports dive bar in boulder to watch and have my fate decided if i'm immediately driving 8 hrs to omaha in the middle of the night to watch my beavs win the championship. I felt like I was in a movie watching that foul ball drop & homerun in sequence. Everyone at that dive bar was captivated by my trip & rooting with me to see my dreams come true. Next day in Omaha & enjoying the championship in person was icing on the cake. If an angel or spirit was along side me & a baseball or beaver fan, i'm convinced they played a part.

God Oregon State was loaded this year with future top-notch MLB prospects

That right fielder has to come in and take charge of that ball, he's got the best run at it....going to be on instructional videos for decades.

Still amazes me that OSU won CWS with their best player (Madrigal .367 BA season) in a slump, their best pitcher (Heimlich 16-3, 2.92 ERA season) going 0-1 and their productive lead-off hitter (Kwan .463 OBP season) essentially on the bench, injured. Monster Championship series' by Rutschman (8/13), Larnach (5/11) and Abel (2-0) still got the job done.
  • I've seen this about 50 times and it never gets old. "Please give that pitch to Larnach again..." OH SHIT!!! HE DID!!!!

Decided to watch this again for the umpteenth time, Trevor getting the callup today was the trigger. Go Beavs. Still must still hurt if you are a Hogs fan.

This has got to hurt even more knowing Arkansas best team got destroyed by a little giant in the Northwest playing WITHOUT one of the best players in the majors right now. In Kwan's rookie season. Ouch.

I was in a hotel room up in washington watching this. I was praying when that ball was in the air that it would drop, and when it did I was estatic. Amazing close to the beavs' season.
  • Feel bad for Shaddy, he is a local and had a great season and is still known for missing that ball. Sucks.

Anybody still watching this in 2024. We could be heading for a rematch in the CWS. Oregon State has a team that is re-writing the offensive record books at OSU. Love to see Arkansas in the CWS, that would be fun!

These were the two best teams that year. It was an awesome series!

The 37 dislikes are the damaged grass blades from the dropped fly ball

I remember watching this live and couldn’t believe nobody caught that pop up! Glad they didn’t though, because OSU was my pick.

I never realized it until now but mullholland the relief pitcher who had the crazy double play to end the game was celebrating the Larnach home run with the boys in the dugout which means he literally had to get his gear and head to the pen between innings. Which is why Abel started the inning.

It was the year for the Beavs! What a talented team.
