This scene relates so much to life. As a kid, you have dreams, different views, and high expectations. But as you grow older, you realize the world you imagined as a 6 year old kid is a lot more cruel and different then you’d expect. Realizations like this come so unexpected and rapidly, that your views of the world and your dreams either die or change entirely

And this marks the end of Eren's humanity

I'm a fucking crybaby bruh. I started crying as soon as I realized that Eren really isn't as excited as he was when he was little because he legit had no enemies. Now he has to think about whats after the ocean and what lies beyond it. Fucking god tier writing Isayama

When you realize: 1: When Eren lost his humanity 2: Commander Erwin never got to know what was in the basement 3: WIT's goodbye And many others but these are just some of the sad things to keep in mind :( sobs

This is the saddest scene in the series for me. All Eren has ever wanted was to be free. When he looked at the ocean. Everything he saw in his memories, it was confirmed to him and he understood the truth. Eren is not free and he will never be free.

This episode was so sad. After all the hellish battles he went though, the pain he suffered, the sheer amount of survey corps soldiers killed... eren is a broken man here. Everyone else is excited to the see the ocean, yet all he sees is more enemies to kill beyond the horizon. To see him become so jaded is truly heartbreaking. Whatever happened to that little boy that wanted to see the ocean?

I keep finding myself coming here to this song, this moment was so bitter, makes me think of a lot of beautiful moments in my life that I couldn't even appreciate because of a non stop battle with my own demons...

Almost every anime tries to create a unique, epic, and emotional story. None have captured it quite well as Attack on Titan. It started as just another violent anime. The main character was even fairly unlike able. But they made us care for an animated series with all our hearts. I haven’t read the Manga and I don’t intend to. Books can portray an emotional journey in their own way, but this. This is a journey that won’t easily be topped. Next year better hurry up and get here. The Patriots are restless. These soldiers will rage, these soldiers will scream, and these soldiers will fight. To the bitter end. Shinzou wo Sasageyo.
