What people may not realize is, that just like the title indicates, all of that footage is from just ONE tournament (world cup 1986). This isn't a collection of footages from multiple tournaments, multiple years, clubs, etc. No, this is what he did in ONE tournament. Absolutely stunning performance. No player has ever played with that stamina, skills, speed, etc., in one tournament.

Maradona was not a football player, he was an artist. And his Mona Lisa was the 86 World Cup, a performance that will live forever.

Nobody could beat his 86 world cup performance in a competition, nobody did and nobody will be able to achieve because that was too crazy. Please allow me here to give you some of his stats during this competition: 25 expected goals excluding his 5 goals and his 5 assists, 53 successful dribbles, more than 50 fouls by his opponents, 20 successful defensive duels won, 15 and 12 crosses and long balls. He had a stat of a top class winger, striker, defensive midfielder and playmaker, combined Pele, Ronaldinho, R9, Zidane, Makelele and Messi in 1 person. He was magical with the ball but also powerful like a horse. All his actions inspired generations of players. Wish him rest in peace.
  • I've been watching football since '82. I'm French. Therefore I fell many times in love with Platini, Henry, Zidane and now Mbappé. Enjoyed Messi's magic, R9 speed, Bergkamp first touch and R7 haircut. But... Maradona '86 is the greatest performance of a human being with a ball at his feet...
  • I have watched Maradona on TV and in person (I consider myself lucky to have seen him live) during my Teens. I have never seen such a presence from one single individual in a team sport. We are all familiar with the historic footage now, but what make him special was this aura of being "unbeatable" to his opponents and the spectators. We didn't really watch the game, we watched Maradona. His ability to judge the ball, situations and the game overall was almost superhuman. I have seen him reach balls nobody would even run after. For some reason he could judge that he will get it. After a while you knew as a spectator that if Maradona would start to run, he would get it. If he was going after a kick, the ball would end up where he wanted it to end up. He had an incredibly low error rate, especially during his time from 1984 to 1990. His passes and overall accuracy have been unbelievable. His natural understanding of physics and motion should have been studied closer. He was an unbelievable talent, unmatched by anybody in my lifetime. His performances in 1986 are legendary, but one of the hidden masterpieces was his game 1990 against Brazil. There you can see another side of him as a strategic genius.

Maradona was the reason why my dad became a football fan. His best advice is: if you want to do something in your life do it with love like Maradona.

I've watched the whole tournament live on TV when I was still a little kid during that summer, and I remember vividly when I was watching Maradona playing, it was a supernatural display of supremacy on the pitch. He wasn't only just a heavenly gifted player, but he also was a true warrior and a leader... I've cried and screamed my lungs out, how this could be real!? I've watched him playing with Napoli as well, and he was also unreal, but that 1986 world cup tournament, was probably the best one the world has ever seen from one individual, even to this day... Messi might be the GOAT in terms of the achievements and the longevity, but Maradona was also the pure genius of the game!

A midfielder! Attacking and defensive show ! Unbelievable! He is just out of the world . He is the greatest player of all time ever played football. Undoubtedly. ❤
  • @djfunkychicken
Forget the tricks, skills and ability.. any player who can survive for an entire career with that many brutal tackles is the greatest of ALL
  • @ChallHatt
Maradona was everything that a footballing nation like Argentina could ever dream of.
  • I'm chilean and I would like to say that Diego Armando Maradona Is the best player of all times, nuff said!!! ⚽🏆
  • Maradona wasn't just the player if this tournament but really was head and shoulders above any other football player ever in every football arena. He was at one with a football like no-one else, and always an absolute delight to watch.
  • @dsasays
Technically the most gifted player to have played the game. A joy to watch & a nightmare for defenders.
  • @jontyarnold8522
He even had the coolest name of any footballer…Once you heard it you remembered it….Diego Maradona !!! 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷

There are players and artists. Maradona was an artist. In my opinion, no player ever can be compared to this man. He will remain the best of all time.

I watched the World Cup in 1986. The world was in awe of what Maradona was doing. Maradona was a global event.
  • You will never see this kind of natural talent in football ever again. Diego had it all, and he did it effortlessly: Dribbling, ball control, speed, instinct, goal, game vision, passes, freekicks,... He made a low team like Napoli win two Italian leagues and a UEFA Cup when Serie A was at his peak, he won the 1986 World Cup all by himself, won a intercontinental cup, Spanish league with Barça, Argentinian league with Boca,... There's no debate. Diego is the football GOAT.
  • @footballman7314
His performance at that WC is by far the best performance ever, he is the only player to win the World Cup on his own, he literarly controled the game from start to end that is how good he was, and now he plays football in heaven RIP.
  • @reydavinci
For those who know about football, you know his passes and dribbling are exquisite, unmatched. He moves his feet and legs in seconds to get the best possible play and his mind was going crazy with possibilities. He was given talent and he gave us this World Cup to appreciate the sport.
