Four Of A Kind will be Rocket Lab’s 43rd launch overall and its first launch this year, as well as its 10th launch from Launch Complex 1B. Their Electron rocket will be launching four Space Situation Awareness (SSA) satellites for Spire Global Inc’s customer NorthStar. The four L.E.M.U.R. satellites will be launched into a circular 530 km Sun synchronous orbit at 97° inclination. They are also attempting to recover their Electron booster after it softly splashes down.

YEARS after hearing it the first time, I'm still an absolut fan of the music you made for the end of your videos... So easy going, sweet... And the editing with the old archives is so great... Wish you a great week Tim.

Rocket Lab has the best mission patches, I’m surprised you didn’t showcase the Four of a Kind patch in this stream, it’s a REALLY good patch

The video feed from the recovery operation not cutting out was likely because of the direction this launch went in. Instead of rapidly moving away over the Pacific like most launches, it more or less followed the New Zealand coastline southwest, so managed to stay within coms range.

Space launches are our equivalent of "watching the big game." Live is way better than pre-recorded.

I checked the Delta V for circularize a SSO orbit at 500km would be ~60m/s, this should be achievable by restarting the Rutherford engine for one to two seconds. RocketLab chooses to make an extra (cold gas, thus very low ISP) kick stage instead of adding a little bit more fuel to the second stage is very interesting. I have two hypothesis: 1. The lithium ion battery would be too cold after 40 min in orbit. 2. Other modifications needed for restarting a small engine/rocket doesn’t worth the cost.

Well done Rocket Lab. No helicopter probably the way to go :)

That's cool!! I wonder what will happen if the weather is bad though. Can they recover the booster in heavy wave?

You also need to coordinate with Intercept Games to get them to award a "Most Kerbal Manoeuver of the Year" during the show. Last year would have been flight 1 of Starship. This year so far it would be Japan's Flamey-Side-Up landing.
