   • Daily singing exercises for an awesom...

Your voice is a muscle and if you're serious about wanting to learn to sing well then you need to strengthen that muscle. I can speak from experience, as someone who couldn't belt, twang, sing more than an octave and a bit and had massive pitching issues to someone who has been singing professionally for the last 10 years. I did at least 15 minutes exercising a day as well as singing through lots of material and within six months my voice made an incredible change. You can too.

NATHANIEL MORRISON
As well as a talented performer Nathaniel is also the artistic director of The West End Gospel Choir. For more info on them:

Hey, are you also reading through comments while doing vocal warm-ups? Let me give you something to read: Tips for better singing: - Stretch your tongue and your chest. - Do not drink milk/eat anything with milk in it [ Ice cream etc... ] 24hr before singing. 'cause it's gonna clog your throat which will make it harder for you to sing. - Use vocal fry and vocal riff and runs. Not only it sounds better, but it also makes you sound like a professional - BE CONFIDENT flat singing voice and cracks are mostly 'cause of insecure singers who are afraid of anyone hearing them. Tips for soundproofing. If you're afraid of anyone hearing you, make your room more soundproof. - [ FOR THE WARM-UP / EXERCISES ONLY ] Put your hand above your mouth so your voice can get warmed up while doing the vocal warm-up, it won't make much of a sound. - Put carpets on the floor - Use thick blankets and put them on the door. They should cover the door. - Put a lot of furniture in your room, so the vibrations don't go any further. - Put thick blankets over your head. It sounds silly but hey! if you're alone why not? These tips help you make your room more soundproof. The vibrations of your singing voice won't go any further if you use one of these techniques listed above. It won't go any further 'cause the vibration will lose energy over these elements.

I just wanted to thank you Verba, I have been practicing daily for about a few weeks and I can feel the changing in my voice already. I have a stronger fuller more open sound. My confidence in reaching the higher range has increased. All this in just the first few weeks. God bless you. I have forwarded the links to my choir members and asked them to do them at 3 times per week.

ahh i haven't been here in five months, it feels like coming home 😭❤
  • First time on this warm up and found it difficult to memorize & execute all the melodies but with repetition it should be fine :) Thankyou, as you are so good at what you do as a teacher, very professional but non-intimidating.

I love the ha ha has!! Lol😂
  • @92sarahmarie
The staccato Ha's reminds me of robbers breaking into a bank. Love it.
  • Hello Anna et al. This is an update. Since starting with Verba in mid July 2017, I just CANNOT believe how many strides I have made. Through the tests, I found I was Mezzo as I have mentioned before, but my range in both registers have extended SO MUCH now, that I have even "broken into" light opera! I love to sing Songbirds, O Mio Babbino Caro, Ave Maria. Not sure of all the meanings, being in latin, but I get the gist! I just cannot thank you enough. I have reached heights I would never have believed possible, and singing, along with daily practices, is like a drug for me now. I have cut down on the caffeine, and I never drink alcohol, but I always have a mug of warm lemon and honey water by me. If you ever want to use my name for recommendations, I wouldn't be able to say enough good about you all. Kindest regards. xx
