Funny thing is this is not the first product like this from Nintendo. And I am not even talking about WarioWare DIY. No, the first product like by Nintendo dates back to the... NES. Or Famicom, to be precise as it never left Japan for some reason. The thing was called Nintendo Family BASIC and it was a dialect of BASIC programming language designed for the NES. You could do some impressive stuff with it from few videos about it I have watched, though obviously the documentation was in Japanese so good luck figuring out more complex stuff aside from the what most BASIC dialects had in common back then. It also came with a keyboard peripheral for the Famicom so you could actually write the code.
