I was 19 when this stand up special originally aired. I was all in on politics too, and was for 15-16 years. But now, in my mid-40s, Carlin’s monologue perfectly encapsulates my level of political apathy. Rabid party fandom meant to divide us and keep us at each other’s throats for scraps while the elites laugh all the way to the bank.
