Honestly Tiago i mostly agree with you on your takes, however adding $40-50 dollars for a small sound instrument is absolutely insane, I could understand about $10 but this is just completely unjustified
  • @kz.productions
I think the sound brick is neat but should be used sparingly only for sets that need it like this one. If sets like Modulars or dioramas start using them prices will skyrocket
  • @georgejupp1840
I honestly can’t believe you think the sound brick justifies an extra $50 to the cost of the set
  • @mikaxms
Without sound brick I would expect this set to cost $60. The extra mark up of $40 is crazy. I wonder how much it will be on bricks and pieces.
  • @smstnitc
I thought it was a 💩 at first glance 😂
  • @nathonso_edits
That sound brick really isn't going to cost that much to produce, heck there's happy meal toys that have had speaker functionality like this, it definitely does not justify the huge markup
  • @RacingBrick
It would be great if LEGO would think in terms of a system and make the sound brick compatible and programmable with Powered Up. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening...

3:26 - $40-50 dollars for a little plastic thing that makes noise? Honestly that makes no sense to me in the context of other toys that are much larger and have much more complexity for that cost. I understand the studs part needs to be as high quality as a regular brick but those electronics really cannot be blowing up the price that much,

I'm so happy LEGO made a 💩emoji into a set!

Introducing the Smell Brick- a 4x4x3 brick that emits 22 different smells, including beef, pork, turkey, and so much more. A key element used in the "LEGO Ideas Buildable Nose", set to be released on April 1st. 500 pieces / Retails for 250 Dollars or 230 Euros.
  • @ClintonMatos
Sorry but there's absolutely no way I can accept that the sound brick is "worth" that much money. Toy makers have been putting sounds into products for longer than most Lego fans have been alive. You can buy novelty birthday cards with sound cards.
  • @precascer8221
Can't wait to see the first MOCs using this hacked sound brick for those talking fish decorations lmao
  • @cwega2463
also it’s not 31 different sounds. it’s 31 different combinations. there’s four houses and four different sentence starters that he sometimes combined to make his speach longer. that’s it

IMO, the box art looks a ton better than the actual model - based on this video. It's way overpriced and doesn't look sharp at all. The soundbrick seems to be fun, but just like with lightbricks, its quite gimmicky and will, over time, not be used a whole lot, so it doesn't justify the inflated price for me.

This is actually an example where a generic bluetooth button for 2 USD is a much better solution as it could be inserted into many models and the rest is done by an app on the phone that you can train to play one sound or random sounds, or even your own sounds. A bluetooth speaker ( add 10 USD ) inside the head, only activated for a short time by the integrated button, could even play the sound, instead of the sound coming out of the your phone. Than you have one device that can be used in trains, cars, space ships without any need to change the device itself.

Thanks for your effort in making your reviews. However, saying that the price for this set is justified when you got it for free just seems a bit weird to be honest. I appreciate your insights (as a former employee of the company) into what the process is to create a new piece, but you also know that not all production cost of a new part has to be earned back with the first set in which it appears.
  • @brentgoats3136
The sound apparatus appears to be a variation on what's being used in the Super Mario sets, but with a different brick casing. Not being familiar with the costs of developing the bricks themselves, it does appear they could already be sharing the costs of the electronics with other themes, making it harder to justify the bump in price just for a brick sandwich and squishy button, but that's just my take.
  • @rodrigomatos1636
LoL, LEGO out here literally passing on all the R&D costs to make the brick straight onto the consumer, no shame at all. Helluva greedy family business this is!
  • @yumahummus5033
the talking brick makes this set feel like something lego would have made in the early 2000s
