  • Your comment about not just being a mom but being first and foremost a follow of Christ blew my mind. I'm not a mom, I'm not even married, but a dream of mine is to be a mom, yet I feel I've already defined myself as a mother before being a follower of Christ in way. Yes I want to raise kids for the glory of God but but I feel I forgot that I need to train myself and enjoy my time with God as a single young lady. ❤❤❤❤ thank you, praise God and may He continue to bless you.

Yes! I am that anti mom group mom… not your sorority mom sister. No hate on those that are. I am like that even with tv shows, extremely slow to jump on the band wagon of trends. My skepticism and questioning has served me right so far.

“I don’t even want to talk about the fact that I’m a Mom because I’m so much more than just a Mom. I’m a follower of Jesus Christ and that is my identity” 🫳🎤💥🙌🏼🤩

I'm so glad you brought up Mama Bear! I couldn't get past the first few chapters. Mama Bear was said a million times and almost no real information was given. As a woman who craves real theological information, your channel has been wonderful and I hope more women out there will dig into their Bibles and read into the Exegesis of the word.

I love these book reviews!!! Would love your review of Alisa’s other book “Live Your Truth (And Other Lies)”
  • I also struggled with Mama Bear Apologetics. It made me feel guilty for not being a mom's mom. But now that you mention it, I probably felt that way because I see myself as more than just a mom and homemaker. I'm so glad you brought it up.
  • @isabelgranados8176
Please please please, when are we going to read your book???????????? 😅😅😅
  • @rokmelon
Yes I so agree with you when Christian books are super popular they may be theologically tuned to the masses. Thank you for your reviews and your channel!

"The Gospel Comes with a House Key" by Rosaria Butterfield was one of the most convicting books I've read this year. Her first book Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert is also fantastic.

The Mama Bear book is geared towards helping moms with their kids, and it very clearly states that, it is literally about parenting. Reading an apologetics book about parenting and then complaining that it reminds you that you are a mom (the idea that anyone is offended by being called a mom in general is bizarre to me) is not really fair to the book. Like it feels like you probably should not have picked it up in the first place, if the very idea of it "just isnt right for you."
  • I haven’t read a lot of the ones you reviewed but I felt the same about Mama Bear Apologetics. I ended up DNFing it too. Besides the part that I’m not a mama, I wanted to read it because I’m an auntie, but also, I was not vibing with it either. Right now I’m reading Misled by Allen Parr, which I know you’ve already reviewed. I love these videos! Thanks for doing it! -Hanna

Around the 12/13 minute mark where you are talking about your hesitations with Mama Bear Apologetics is 100% where I have been and how I have felt. I still haven't read it. So often the books that are marketed towards "Mama's" are too light for my taste. I will look at Voddie's book. That sounds like something that will really get my mind moving. Another mom in my church and I were talking about this very topic yesterday. Many Ladies Ministries groups leave us feeling flat. We prefer the Men's Ministry topics (which we can't attend), or mixed groups. Maybe we should consider approaching ladies' ministry more from the academic side for the ladies like us. We can't be the only ones that feel that way.
  • @WellRootedWomen
Yay!!!! I was just thinking we need a new book recommendation video from Faith!! Thank you ❤
  • Thank you for reading Mama Bear Apologetics and saving me the trouble. I have found way to many Christian books are for baby Christian’s, and not enough are for wanting to go deeper. Sounds like it’s a beginner Christian book.
  • I absolutely love reading William. s plumer and John flavel Give them a.shot if you haven't ! God 🙏 bless
  • @lexisotelo8010
I'm totally like you regarding books/media that are super hyped up! If everyone loves it, I am hesitant. Lol 😅
  • @tiffanydaniel8996
Just finished reading “M is for Mama” by Abbie Halberstadt. Would love your take on it if you ever read it. I thought it was quite convicting but also gracious in its tone.
  • @RenaGriffin-zo4wc
Michael Card, a wonderful musician/storyteller most popular in the 1980's. Had no idea he is a writer as well.
  • @philiplewis1989
I love these videos by you & other Christian YTers. Gives me books to read. Me love books. ❤

Here is another recommendation, Five Lies of Our Anti-Christian Age by Rosaria Butterfield
