  • You know when the lyrics of a song randomly comes back to you and remember the song , you instantly need to listen to to the song

Respect to all the kids out there who sadly feel this song, rather than having the privilege of just hearing it.. You have an inner core strength that will get you through your journey, and what feels bad now won't last forever...

I love it when rappers rap from pain and real life events and when they rap from the heart like green does. It must be horrible to lose a parent to suicide. Such a powerful song. This makes me cry

I wanna sing, I wanna shout I wanna scream 'til the words dry out So put it in all of the papers, I’m not afraid They can read all about it, read all about it, oh [Verse 1: Professor Green] Nothing to hide, stifle or smother Suffered and cried, strife made me tougher Never mumbled or shy to trouble I rise above all Expectations forget rep Ain’t never begged yet When I wanted to get pence hustle To be I am exactly what my neck says That sket said I tried to cash in on my Dad's death I wanted to vent but I never said fuck all After all you were never kin to me Family is something that you never been to me In fact making it harder for me to seemy father Was the only thing that you ever did for me [Hook: Emeli Sandé] I wanna sing, I wanna shout I wanna scream 'til the words dry out So put it in all of the papers, I’m not afraid They can read all about it, read all about it, oh [Verse 2: Professor Green] (Dear Dad) As a kid I looked up to you Only thing was I never saw enough of you The last thing I said to you was I hated you I loved you and now it's too late to say to you Just didn't know what to do and how to deal with it Even now deep down I'm still livid To think I used to blame me I wonder what I did to you to make you hate me I wasn't even 5, life's a journey and mine wasn't an easy ride You never even got to see me rhyme I just wish you woulda reached out I wish you would have been round when I been down I wish that you could see me now Wherever you are I really hope you found peace But know that if I ever have kids Unlike you I'll never let them be without me [Hook: Emeli Sandé] I wanna sing, I wanna shout I wanna scream 'til the words dry out So put it in all of the papers, I’m not afraid They can read all about it, read all about it, oh (I write songs I can't listen to Everything I have to give to you And everyone of these lines I sing to you) [Bridge: Professor Green] My job's more like public service My life just became yours to read and interpret If you heard it and come across a lot different at times I throw fits when I read how they word things You see me smile Now you're gonna have to see me hurting Cause pretending everything is all right When it ain't, really isn't working [Hook: Emeli Sandé] I wanna sing, I wanna shout I wanna scream 'til the words dry out So put it in all of the papers, I’m not afraid They can read all about it, read all about it, oh [Outro: Professor Green] I ain't censoring myself for nobody I'm the only thing I can be All that is good, all that is bad, all that is, me [Hook: Emeli Sandé] I wanna sing, I wanna shout I wanna scream 'til the words dry out So put it in all of the papers, I’m not afraid They can read all about it, read all about it, oh

“But know if I ever have kids like you I will never let them be without me” preach

Proof you can become a successful musician & millionaire with hard work even if your parents leave you & you were raised by your grandparents. Stephen is a top man & deserves everything he gets in life.

Say what you will, Pro Green has the skill and heart of Eminem, and you can feel his emotions when he's rapping, if he was American and more recognised by the American market (and consequentially the rest of the world like Japan ETC) this would have what 250 million views? Oh well, i don't care, we can just keep this little gem to ourselves ;)
  • Professor Green has the song writing passion. This song is kind of about him, because his father died when he was 17 and he knows the feeling of not having a father. His own life experience made his write this song that really touched people's souls and even mine.
  • If you are watching this in 2021 you are a legend! Love this song really!👋❤

I have been struggling with depression for more than 10 years now. Only in the last few months have I seen a GP about it. Suicide is always on my mind, the feelings of worthlessness and the idea that everybody in my life would be better off without me around, haunt me every minute of every day. I had never really approached Prof Green before I watched his Documentary Suicide and Me. That documentary has given me a hope that I am wrong. That if I were to shuffle off this mortal coil, they wont be better off, they will be devastated, angry at me and at themselves. To use his own words about his father. He has shown me id be a 'muppet' to do that to my friends who are as close to a real family as I could ever get. In an interview I have seen where he talks about that very documentary (loose women its here on youtube) he mentions that if one life gets saved because he went through what he did to make that program then it'd be worth it. Well Professor, that documentary may have saved mine.

Feel sorry for this young man as a boy. I grew up in a painfull child hood that went from bad to worse. I think now there was a angel watching over me pulling me back and my gut telling me when there was trouble. But my son never seen his dad and how bad he was i protected him and kicked his dads arse. Didnt want the same for my light i wanted him to have a childhood and always enjoy who he is and embrace all of him like i do. My son my gift and proffessor green was to his parents.

This song is so much better when you know what it's about 😥

If you are watching this in 2022, then just remember that you are a Legend and stay strong❗😉💯
  • I had a great childhood. Unfortunately not from my biological mother or father which hurt going into my teens. I heard this song and it hit hard. Today, I'm a father of three handsome boys. I've been with my Wife from we were at school ( we are 30 now). I'm 5 years in my dream job within the Emergency services and just bought my first home! We are set up just nicely and songs like this gave me the strength to power on with my dreams. Keep fighting kids 👊😎
