Having switched from the iPhone 15 Pro Max to the S24 Ultra at the start of the year, I have really enjoyed integrating into the Android and Samsung ecosystem. In this video, I reveal my thoughts on the newly released Samsung Z Fold 6 and whether it is good enough to become my main phone going forward. Will it keep me with Samsung?

  • Finally someone that has my same mindset about this phone front screen, it’s a single hand phone! 🎉🎉🎉 that’s so not understood! And it’s a two hands phone unfolded! No other phone does it and I miss the days where phones like iPhone 7 where a one hand phone! With this one you also get a tablet
  • @mr.t8830
Yes the on handed operation is amazing then when you want it it’s freakin’ huge and you have a pen it’s out of this world 🌎
  • Yes the Fold is expensive but if I take into consideration the cost of convenience as I no longer have to take a phone, tablet or a laptop to a presentation, just the one device then it's a no-brainer.
  • I think the price is worth it. You got phone mini tablet and Dex you got something same as Chromebook or a little better. For pro work you need something better but for casual tasks and emails. It’s not the best phone experience (screen width) not best tablet (square design not great for some content) Dex is not a computer replacement for pros. But put it all together it’s a really great piece of technology.
  • You have the voice of someone who is very kind and this is a lovely review 🎉
  • @mr.t8830
Well I was an iPhone users for 15 years the only thing I can say from just moving to Android and the Zfold 6 pre ordered ultra watch also, now over a week in and WOW WOW WOW love it productivity powerhouse, that looks modern same as the ultra watch, looks like an Apple Watch my arse, anyone who thinks that needs an eye test, just because it has the same looking band that’s about it, interesting exciting different to anything, All,I need is this and when they upgrade and battery cameras it’s all just going to get better, apple is about 10,years behind Samsung at this moment in time.
  • I am in the same boat , switched to s24U from iphone15pm and now to Fold6. I love it but miss the battery and better zoom. The cover screen has been perfect , after so many years I can use my phone single handed. Feels compact to carry as well.
  • I've had it since launch day, the battery is my biggest gripe. However, when you consider you have a multitasking device operating at such a high level that is a tablet then its worth the trade off. The screen is simply phenomenal, I don't notice the crease at all because the brightness of the screen. I love it, when I see other devices now I'm questioning why I didn't go to a fold sooner.
  • I'm not a "Samsung" person but I did use the Z(ed) Fold 6 briefly and I did love the hardware. It does, like you said, feel very premium, as it should given the price. The hinge for me was one of the standout features in making it feel premium and expensive. It's smooth and you can really tell it's well made, confident inspiring when opening and closing the device. Another thing I found surprising, for me that is, is the inside display UTG feel was a lot closer to regular glass like you'd find on the cover display than in previous Fold versions and that feel was one of my biggest pet peeves with foldable phones in general not to mention the smudges and general plasticy look of UTG on foldables. I came away really impressed and if I was into Samsung phones, granted it's a lot of money and some of the Chinese alternatives have it beat in other key areas but here in the US, those alternatives for most are not a smart choice for many reasons even if you were to go to the trouble of importing one so for many of us here it's between the Z Fold, the Pixel Fold(able) and the OnePlus Open. Personally I am a Pixel fan and depending on how good the 9 Pro Fold turns out, if the hardware is as premium in the hand as the Z Fold 6, I may overlook the camera deficiencies compared to the 9 Pro XL and get the 9 Pro Fold instead.
  • Love the wallpaper in your thumbnail, where'd you find it? 😜
  • @jebaker2
Pretty good & fair summary. I rarely need "great" zoom so the camera has been great for me... but 💯 agree with the battery. I'm hoping it improves as it learns my usage.
  • @AdamFrugoli
I got the 1 tb white version coming from the iPhone user for the last 15 years… It’s been good transition so far. (As I write this on my iPad)
  • @cuz129
Agreed that the camera needs 5x optical. I used to use that to identify birds with the 50x digital zoom on my Note 20 Ultra. Having only 30x digital zoom instead of the 50x and 100x zooms available on other phone cameras is just not right for a flagship phone.
  • @CoolAngus
Hi Mark. Liked your review! I have followed a very similar trajectory to you. Used iPhones for years. Bought the S24 Ultra when it came out, now bought the Z Fold 6. 😊 The cases you mentioned looked great. Already ordered a Pitaka case, but if that doesn’t work out, will try one of those. Look forward to following your journey in the world of Samsung.
  • I too came from an iPhone 15 pro max to the s24 ultra and now to the fold 6. So far I really like the versatility. It replaces my tablet too for my note taking in one note. But for some reason I still struggle sometimes woth the keyboard on android and the auto correct doesn't seem as refined as Apple. My experience.
  • @Bruceneuman
$2000 and the camera is not their best? Are they kidding?😢
  • @canad-ian
I would like to go back to a Fold because I really enjoyed having a Fold 3 and 4, but the cost is prohibitive at the moment, the camera system is kind of funky although if I'm not doing a lot of zooming in it might be fine. I guess I'm now spoiled by the S24U and what it does for me on a regular basis. Great video and I'm looking forward to see what the Pixel 9 Pro Fold brings to the table.
  • Nice wallpaper on the thumbnail… where did you get it from?
