  • John: I don’t think works of art primarily exist as riddles to be solved Also John: Hi. This video contains a clue

"I'm not an expert at analyzing song lyrics." John, if books belong to readers, then surely songs belong to listeners, so... I think you can say that you're an expert in how you analyze song lyrics.

John, have you thought of getting a multi level reptile tank? I heard they were really relaxing, and you could have Turtles All The Way Down
  • "All that glitters is gold" has always made me think that things or moments that are beautiful have inherent value: that while it's true that everything that looks like gold isn't really, there's value in appreciating what glitters in life, whether or not it leads to wealth or wisdom.

Desperately seeking "warmth of past memory and the warmth of future hope" these days.. these videos always help..❣
  • “All that is gold does not glitter.” Tolkien, or Gandalf, depending on how you look at it.
  • @SamFlintHere
I have to say before the Thing ™ I never really considered the fact that the song All Star was actually ABOUT anything
  • Personally, I prefer Tolkien’s “all that is gold does not glitter.”

"I think art exists primarily not to be figured out but to live with. And around. And also other prepositions." ~John Green, 2020.
  • @shaveinator
I resonated with your statement "art isn't something to be figured out, but to be lived with." The songs and poems that I cherish aren't necessarily the most beautiful or perfect, they're the ones I listen too, then see in my world. Thanks, John

“All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

When you quoted Perks of Being a Wallflower, my favorite book, that hit. That was special
