I absolutely relate to the last point you made. I'm Canadian and have been living here for 9.5 years, only back to Canada three times. It was only the last time I went back (last year) that I felt that New Zealand was my home now and Canada wasn't home anymore. It was a weird feeling to be a "visitor" in the country I spent most of my life in. Also, 100% I've found it hard to make close friends here. I'm older and without kids, so I feel like it's hard to find people in the same stage of life that have the time to put into making a new friend. I find it easier to make what I would call "work friends" here, and I just try to enjoy my time with them around work stuff, but it doesn't often translate to us doing things outside of that. But there are so many things that I love here, I'll definitely be staying for now!

You did a great job on this video. I am 32 years old and have been stuck stateside for the past five years after coming and going from abroad. I am preparing for another move in the next year after I wrap up my undergraduate degree. Your video reminded me of how lonely expat life can be, yet, your life still seems so rich and fulfilling on so many levels. It reminded me why I am seeking to get out. You've got a beautiful soul and it shines through in your videos.

Love this! Not sure how it ended up in my recommended as I am a Kiwi who moved to Australia over 20 years ago (but thank you YouTube). Even countries as similar as New Zealand and Australia - it was the same 'unexpected' learning for me.

All true! Good job. I'm more surprised you're at my local park when there's so few people. So right about not getting a summer this year. Doesn't help with mould in homes. I'm glad you're here. Mānawatia a Matariki 2023.

Thanks for your video! It was really insightful. We are moving our young kids from SA to NZ in 4 months and we are trying to get as much info as we can on NZ. You have touched a few points that we needed to hear. Thanks
