This one's been a long time coming! I started this Flash a month ago today, and I'm proud to say it's finally done. This shouldn't have taken as long as it did, but finals really ate up all my time. You may be thinking to yourself what's so special about this toon, and I'll tell you what:
IT'S ALL FRAME BY FRAME!
I had been using my method of making movie clips and puppeteering them around since I started using Flash way back in 2006. This has really started to get boring, and incredibly limited. In a review Oney left for one of my toons, he said the style was completely lifeless, and I couldn't agree more.
Anyway, this toon has SRM and Cousin Mel watching the absolutely atrocious Star Wars Holiday Special. You can track it down on Youtube or anywhere pirated VHS tapes are sold. I've watched it in it's entirety and it's about as bad as this cartoon makes it out to be.
I felt bad for not making a holiday toon last year, to celebrate Christmas or Qwanzaamas, so I felt this was a good return to form. Two characters interacting in a single environment. Expect this visual style to keep developing, as I really enjoyed working in frame by frame.
