When the Blood Brothers arrived at our studio and we started to get ready for the soundcheck, I asked them what I should expect out of their set. They said that they had a few original songs they were going to perform, but also that they had a bunch of covers covering many decades and genres - everything from the Eagles to R.E.M. to Sublime, and more. The set they ended up playing is 100% representative of this inclusivity; from the second they played the first notes of I Will Survive I recognized the tune, but then they ended up playing Cake’s 1996 arrangement of the famous track. This is a recording that I, my father, and even my grandfather would all recognize tracks from. The Blood Brothers have something to offer for all music fans, past and present, offering a unique trip through many decades of immortal music, with some exciting acoustic originals mixed in for good measure. -BWH
