Hi, my name's Chris Downing and I'm a nearly retired guitarist. Still working on a new duo, "One More Shot" that will be out there on the road from mid-April 2024 around the Devizes parts of Wiltshire. The new material contains some Louisiana style blues, some new Rolling Stones and rock, and general Americana. Been playing for a while now having started in WEst London alonside guys that became big stars later - Ron Wood, Pete Townshend, Keith Moon, John Entwhistle, Spencer Davis and Stevie Winwood, Eric Clapton and Jon Mayall, and Mitch Mitchell. Most of these guys were regulars at Jim Marshall's music shop in Hanwell, so that's how we knew each other as well as us playing support for all of them. If you want to know more then there's a book about The Who called "Pretend You're in a War" - there's few pages where we talk about those times and our band The Macabre - but it's a Who biography of course.
