Their is such a thing as bad music, as in music that corrodes the art form... genres permit true sounds to live on by creating the necessary dichotomies they need to survive against the purely capitalistic music that generates a bigger following through external influences such marketing(propaganda) and media monopoly (the best songs are not played on the most popular radio shows).This is the strategic reason for sub-genre existence
